Dodgers owner Frank McCourt might be fighting over every penny in his divorce from wife Jamie, but that doesn't mean the guy can't be a city patron on a grand scale. LA Observed reports that McCourt, who recently accepted an award from the Los Angeles police union's charitable Eagle & Badge Foundation, offered four free tickets this season to every officer in the Los Angeles Police Department.

The gift, 40,000 tickets said to be worth more than a million dollars, could go a long way toward beefing up security at the stadium. We're just waiting for Jamie McCourt to up the ante. According to LA Observed, the Los Angeles Police Protective League sent out a letter with the following info:

True to his word, Mr. McCourt sent game vouchers to the LAPPL – one voucher for each member, each good for four (4) free tickets to one baseball game on the Loge or Reserve Level.

The vouchers are good for games on September 17, 18, 19 or October 1, 2, 3, 2010 ONLY.
