Warped Tour creator Kevin Lyman along with Mayhem Fest/Odd Ball Festival co-founder John Reese and Live Nation's Rich Best are unleashing a couple huge events in October: The return of the Taste of Chaos tour on October 3 and the first annual It's Not Dead Festival on October 10. Both are slated to be held at the San Manuel Amphitheater Festival Grounds in San Bernardino. Tickets for both events go on sale this Monday, June 22. If you were looking for a reason to scream your head off, now's the time.
After a five-year hiatus, Taste of Chaos 2015 comes back swinging with a marquee lineup featuring Jimmy Eat World, The Used, Dashboard Confessional, Thrice, The All-American Rejects, Saves the Day, Glassjaw, The Movielife, Story of the Year, Finch, Mark Hoppus (DJ set), Greek Fire and Adair.
Originally launched in 2005 by Warped Tour founder Kevin Lyman and John Reese (co-founder of Mayhem Festival, Odd Ball Festival), Taste of Chaos went on to hit 20 countries around the world over its five-year run, helping to launch the careers of bands like Thirty Seconds to Mars, Paramore, My Chemical Romance, Chiodos, Saosin and more, while highlighting such fan favorites as The Used, Deftones, Avenged Sevenfold, Rise Against, Thrice, Story of the Year and Taking Back Sunday.
In addition to welcoming back one of SoCal's storied festivals, we'll also see the birth of It's Not Dead, a big party for the punks with a lineup that cannot be denied.
Proving that punk is of course alive and well, It's Not Dead Fest is crowding just about every punk band you love in a single day of moshing, mayhem and memories. The lineup is headlined by Bad Religion, Pennywise, Descendents, NOFX and offers 35 bands on three stages, including punk and ska greats like The Vandals, 7 Seconds, Bouncing Souls, Anti-Flag, Strung Out, Fishbone, H20, Lagwagon, Goldfinger, Reel Big Fish, Less Than Jake and many more.
The second stage looks like it's reppin' OC punk pretty hard with The Adolescents, Agent Orange, TSOL, Duane Peters Gunfight and Manic Hispanic.
In addition to the a jam-packed day of punk and ska music, the festival will feature an old-school skate/BMX jam, presented by Vans, which features such skateboarding legends as Mike Frazier, Steve Caballero, Christian Hosoi, Omar Hassan and Neal Hendrix along with pros Lizzie Armanto, Alex Perelson, Josh Borden and BMX rider Dennis McCoy.
Additionally, the festival will host an on-site art exhibition titled, “Art's Not Dead,” and a “Punk's Well Read” book signing area, both curated by renowned punk rock photographer Lisa Johnson.
The art show will exhibit and sell works from artists and photographers like Mark deSalvo, Dave Naz, Natalia Fabia, Lisa Johnson, B.J. Papas, Greg Attonito, Chris Shary, Craig “Skibs” Barker, Jeff Alulis, Jason Cardwell and many others.
The book signings will highlight such celebrated punk rock authors as Jeff Alulis, Danny Bland, Cecil Castellucci, Jack Grisham, Shawna Kenney, Jim Lindberg, David Nazworthy, Christian Picciolini, John Roecker with Dylan Melody, Daniel Weizmann and Shanti Wintergate & Greg Attonito.
All tickets for Taste of Chaos are general admission and will go on sale at 10 am PST this Monday, June 22 at TasteOfChaos.com. Early bird tickets will start at just $25.00 and will increase from there. The regular on sale price will be $42.50. Prices do not include ticket service fee or parking.
