Yeah, downtown hipsters need 80,000 rolls of toilet paper and ten gallons of shampoo too. That icon of American, super-size-yet-hip consumerism, Target, is set to open a downtown Los Angeles location, Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa announced Wednesday.

You like lots of stuff, and Target does too: The mayor's office is spinning the more than 100,000-square-foot store at West Seventh and South Figueroa streets as the largest retail lease downtown in two decades.

The Tar-jay, as we like to say, is set to open in 2012 at the 7th+Fig shopping center.

The mayor will be hyping it for the cameras Thursday morning downtown.
