Cops say a tagger who had scaled a three-story building in the Westlake district fell and was “brain dead” today in the words of our City News Service feed report.

The guy had climbed a tree to reach upper reaches of the building at Beverly Boulevard and Union Avenue when he fell, according to the LAPD.

Police told us the suspect was in “critical” condition:

It happened about 2:30 a.m., police said.

He was actually in the act of tagging the building when he fell, according to cops: He was declared brain dead after he was taken to a hospital.

We reached out to the LAPD's nearby Rampart Division and to its Media Relations folks for an update but they had no new info yet.
