SYNTHPOCALYPSE: Cinefamily's 5th Annual Halloween Party

Halloween is truly hallowed at Cinefamily — they opened five years ago on Halloween and like to mark every Cinebirthday with an unforgettable, all-night audio-visual blowout. This year’s bash brought a tribute to the cool, creepy and alien analog sounds of New Wave horror — it’s a slash-happy soiree of murder you can dance to! For one dark, dizzy night, the theater transformed into a haunted, pulsing nightclub where gothy Berlin vamps, knife-wielding New Wavers and Italo-Disco freaks can come together to cut a rug — and each other! Supplying the LIVE sensuous sounds of slaughter were the legendary Claudio Simonetti of Italian soundtrack overlords Goblin performing a solo set, neon noir visionary Tearist rescoring a remixed version of the ‘80s German new wave rocker-stalker Cinefamily favorite Der Fan, and Dadaist documentarian of the digital underbelly James Ferraro taking an aural hatchet to VHS treasure Boardinghouse- It was terrifyingly awesome!
