Joseph Mailander raises toasts and eyebrows at Street Hassle with a recipe for a Swine Flu Cocktail. After acknowledging its topical inevitability, Mailander provides both the recipe and a link to its key ingredient — bacon-infused bourbon. (Maybe this latter component would best be suited for a Lower Manhattan.) Together with anejo tequila, it's being offered up, perhaps, as a Cinco de Mayo alternative to the trad margarita.

“Is that the cure or the disease?” the author wonders.

The source material, from Robert Haynes-Peterson at Examiner.com, suggests the cocktail be imbibed through a straw if the drinker is wearing a surgical mask. We would also suggest that the ingredients be strained through said mask — which should then be disposed of according to proper biohazard protocols.
