Driver Pronounced Dead after Wrong-Way Accident on 118 Freeway

VALLEY GLEN, CA (June 24, 2022) – Saturday, authorities said the suspect driver died after a pursuit crash on Mammoth Avenue.

According to authorities, the incident began when a speeding driver prompted a police pursuit.

The driver continued driving the wrong way on the 118 Freeway before colliding with a California Highway Patrol vehicle.

Police said the chase ended in Valley Glen, where the suspect hit a bystander’s vehicle at an intersection and crashed into a tree. Eventually, the suspect driver died at the scene due to the severity of his injuries.

Meanwhile, the driver of the other vehicle suffered only minor injuries. Authorities at this time, have not released any names of the parties involved.

CHP officials are still currently investigating the pursuit crash on Mammoth Avenue.
