The Los Angeles District Attorney's office was expected Thursday filed to file one charge of murder against 25-year-old Jose Fructuoso, whom police claim has confessed to killing his lover, 59-year-old theater director Bennett Bradley.

The D.A.'s office late Wednesday stated it was “preparing paperwork for a criminal complaint charging one count of murder against Jose Fructuoso” that would be filed in Los Angeles Superior Court Thursday morning. UPDATE: Fructuoso was expected to be in court Thursday for arraignment on the charge.

Fructuoso is being held on $1 million bail in the death of the Fountain Theater director, who was found dead about 5:50 p.m. at his home in the 100 block of South New Hampshire Avenue in Koreatown. Police said Bradley was stabbed multiple times.

Authorities set up surveillance around the residence and say they spotted Fructuoso walking around the area Monday, when he was arrested.
