Mad debauchery happens after dark, but daytime gatherings yield the fondest memories, don’t they? Grillin’ greasy burgers and dogs, sippin’ cool ’n’ colorful cocktails, listening to your favorite warm-weather anthems (new and old), and wearing practically nothing (except, of course, dark shades and gobs of sunscreen) — these are the things that come to mind when you look back upon a long, hot summer. We all seek a reprieve from the hypergloss and hubbub of L.A. nightlife, but what if you want a rockin’ social scene along with the sunshine? Here’s a smattering of the best outdoor happenings, whether you wanna sweat, get wet or just get sloshed.

Every Day Is Like Sunday

The Standard Downtown: Last summer’s Sunday Funday events were groovy, to say the least, and this year they’re just as fab, with a more diverse collection of DJs (Sean Patrick, Steve Aoki, Adam 12 and J-Logic have heated up the tiny dance floor among the skyscrapers). The Standard serves refreshing eats featuring salads and sandwiches, and games are available too, including giant, spread-out-on-the-ground checkers and backgammon, though flirting in the pool remains the most popular activity. 550 S. Flower St., dwntwn. Free if you’re on the guest list (ya gotta know Patrick), $20 otherwise. Every Sunday, noon-sundown.

Splish Splash

The Standard Hollywood: Don’t forget about Andre Balazs’ original neomodern menagerie; it’s once again attracting hot-bodied, overstyled-hair types thanks to promoters David & David and DJ Myles Hendrick, whose Saturday bash called Swim! gathers tattooed tarts, skinny rocker boys (some who’ve even been jumping in the pool with their clothes on) and hotsie WeHo honeys for shakin’ and bakin’. 8300 W. Sunset Blvd., W. Hlywd. Free (guaranteed entry with RSVP only — you must be on promoter’s guest list). Every Saturday, noon-6 p.m.

Easy Breezy

Moonshadows: Pools aren’t the only way to cool off — check out this seaside restaurant for its Sunday sundeck soirees, featuring electronic-music DJs and blingin’ crowds (this is the Bu, after all). The bar inside rages too, while the adjoining restaurant offers a calmer vibe and a beachy seafood-filled menu. The best thing about this one? The gorgeous sunsets and soft breezes, which are made even more intoxicating by the rhythmic soundtrack — and flowing libations. 20356 Pacific Coast Hwy., Malibu. Free. See www.MoonshadowsMalibu.com for more info.

Country Time

The Echo: The Echo Park hang re-launches its free, all-ages summer barbecues, where neighborhoodsters can chow down on cheap eats and drinks out back while local bands pump it up indoors. Named “the Grand Ol’ Echo” with its countrified theme this year, the event began last weekend with Mike Stinson, Fur Dixon & Steve Werner, and Grant Langston and continues all summer. 1822 Sunset Blvd., Echo Park, (213) 413-8200.

Happy Campers

Little Radio’s Summer Camp: Whether you’re a rocker who has a kid or just acts like one, you’ll love the popular Internet station’s Sunday shindigs, which feature a 15-foot inflatable pool, a bounce house, an obstacle course, and slip-’n’-slide competitions for free concert tickets. Local bands play inside the L.R. warehouse (everyone from the Tyde to Future Pigeon to Dios Malos has performed so far) while DJs spin in the parking lot. The Spring St. Smokehouse brings the grub, and there are always cheap margaritas to keep ya lubricated. After a July hiatus, the all-ages party gets into full swing again. 1218 Long Beach Ave., dwntwn.; starting Sun., Aug. 6, noon-8 p.m. Free. See www.littleradio.com for details.
