The Fourth of July firecrackers may be mere ash, but expect some terpsichorean pyrotechnics in the Cahuenga Pass as summer’s al fresco dance season opens at the Ford Amphitheatre with a shared program featuring three award-winning contemporary choreographers. Kate Hutter, Maria Gillespie and Holly Johnston each helm their own ensembles that are individually worth a trip to the theater. Here they have collaborated, sharing dancers, designers and composers, for a program that includes three world premieres. The combined concert promises a stylish launch for this summer’s lineup, which includes performances by Hysterica Dance Company, State Street Ballet with Carmen, FOCUSFish Flying Circus, blue13 dance company, a tribute to Philippine cultura from Kultura, separate evenings dedicated to belly and street dance, and Mexican folklorico from Pacifico Dance Company and Grandeza Mexican Folk Ballet. Ford Amphitheatre, 2580 Cahuenga Blvd. East, Hlywd.; Fri., July 6, 8:30 p.m.; $20-$25, $5 students and children under 12 years. (323) 461-3673 or www.fordamphitheatre.org.
