10-Year-Old Girl Dies in Car Accident on State Route 347

MARICOPA, AZ (April 3, 2023) – Sunday night, Suheiry “Hydie” Fernandez was fatally struck by another vehicle on State Route 347. Celia Fernandez, the mother of Hydie, said in the report that her mother, sister, brother, and Hydie were in a different vehicle traveling on SR-347. Furthermore, Celia said that she received a call from her brother that their vehicle stopped working. Celia was on a call with Hydie when she told her to get back to the vehicle. Just after they hung up, a driver slammed into their vehicle causing it to spin away from the area and Hydie was ejected from the vehicle. Moments after the collision, responders transported Hydie to the hospital together with all the other family members. Unfortunately, the doctors declared Hydie brain-dead. Celia decided to pull out the life support because she does not want Hydie to suffer any longer. Meanwhile, her brother was released from the hospital and her mother and sister remained. They were all expected to be okay. Authorities released no information about the suspect. Consequently, the police are conducting an active investigation.
No words can mend the broken hearts and sorrow felt during this delicate moment. Deepest condolences and sympathies are with the family and friends of Suheiry Fernandez.
