8 Vehicle Crash Closes McCarran Blvd & South Virginia St

RENO, NV (October 15, 2021) – Friday night, October 8, an 8 vehicle crash on McCarran Blvd and South Virginia Street prompted closures.

According to the Reno Fire Department, there were no major injuries and no one was sent to the hospital.

It appears that two vehicles crashed head-on about 8:12 p.m. One of the automobiles started to catch fire due to the severity of the impact.

Furthermore, Reno officials are launching an investigation into the cause and factors behind the major collision.

It is currently unknown when the junction will reopen to the public.

Additionally, Reno police are asking anyone with information regarding the multi-vehicle collision to contact authorities.
