above: the median point between today's two streams

Two streams for you to gnaw on today! First: Tis please not the season already–didn't we just have Veteran's Day?–but Target has just released for streaming (and later potential download) a custom holiday comp full of exclusive tracks including lots of L.A. locals. Best Coast and (honorary local Wavves), Crystal Antlers, future Manimal releasee Jenny O., Ceci Bastida and Darker My Love (with something that starts almost like a Love song) join Blackalicious, Bishop Allen and more. Examine and assess here!

On the apparent opposite side–punk band Off!'s First Four EPs is up for complete streaming at Think Indie. Sixteen songs, eighteen minutes–that's like Void velocity–and liner notes including an excellent one by Turbonegro's Happy Tom:

“Former heavy the Strand dweller Johnny Bob Goldstein, boogieboarder Steven McDonald, Dimitri Coats AKA The Bob Avakian of West Coast guitar and Mario “The Robin Hood of Sex” Rubalcaba – he's the drummer – cut a Shining Path through the Falangist Lifeguard State that IS the South Bay just so they can go EVEN FASTER in their insulin – fuelled Machete Benz. I'd vote for OFF! TOMORROW!”

Off! here, Target here.
