Cicely Tyson died on January 28 at the age of 96,  just two days after her memoir, “Just As I Am,” was released. CBS This Morning’s Gayle King interviewed the actress the day the book  came out, discussing the Amazon best-seller, which chronicles her life, from growing up in Harlem to becoming a model and revered actress who broke through racial boundaries, to her tempestuous marriage to Miles Davis and beyond. The full interview was shown on BET following her death.

Now King’s bestie Oprah Winfrey is paying tribute as well, releasing her own conversation with Tyson called OWN Spotlight: Cicely Tyson. Gleaned from Winfrey’s 2012 special called “Oprah and The Legendary Cast of Roots 35 Years Later,” discussion with the Emmy and Tony-award-winning actress covers topics such as past roles, life lessons and finding success as a Black woman in the entertainment industry. This should make for perfect Black History Month viewing.
