This rain, rain won't go away. And how authorities are ordering 147 homes in La Canada Flintridge and 85 homes in La Crescenta evacuated.

They're afraid the heavy rains in the Angeles National Forest above these neighborhoods, where brush fires have left the earth vulnerable to mud flows, will create torrents of debris that could slam the houses and endanger residents.

So don't say we didn't warn you.

Evacuees, who are supposed to be out by 9 p.m., are being told they can hold tight at a Red Cross shelter at Holy Redeemer Church, 2411 Montrose Ave., starting at 6 p.m.

Godspeed.
