The owner of a mom-and-mom shop in the Mid-City neighborhood of Victoria Park was shot in the head point-blank during a robbery and survived, police said today.
It happened in the 1300 block of Second Avenue near Pico Boulevard about 9:30 last night, according to an LAPD statement.
Three armed robbers entered the store and …
… demanded that an employee lead them to the owner, according to the LAPD.
The owner was then robbed of “several thousand dollars in cash” before one of the suspects put a gun to his head and pulled the trigger. According to the police statement ” … the shot was not fatal.”
Whew.
Though he was hospitalized in serious condition the owner was expected to survive.
