Stone Temple Pilots are forging ahead with new lead singer Chester Bennington, who joined the band in 2013 after they fired Scott Weiland. Today the band announced a spring tour with Bennington at the mic, presumably performing classic STP material alongside songs from their five-song EP with Bennington, High Rise, released in 2013 to mixed reviews.

STP are currently in the studio working on new music, according to a press release.

Most fan reaction to “Stone Chester Pilots” seems to have been favorable, but the new lineup has at least one prominent critic: Scott Weiland. “It didn’t work,” Weiland said in an interview with the Canadian magazine Chill, referring to the High Rise EP. “People weren’t buying into it.” (You can listen to a stream of the single “Out of Time” below and judge for yourself.)

Presale tickets for the band's spring tour go on sale tomorrow at 10 a.m. via the band's official website. The tour includes an L.A. stop at the House of Blues Sunset Strip on Monday, April 13.
