Steven Dodge Arrested after Chico Hit-and-Run Crash

CHICO, CA (April 1, 2021) – Early Tuesday afternoon, Steven Dodge was arrested following a hit-and-run vehicle collision on Fair Street.

The Chico Police Department received a call from a concerned citizen about the hit-and-run vehicle collision near the 100 block of Fair Street, just before 11:30 a.m., on March 23.

The driver fled the scene, but the citizen managed to track the vehicle and coordinate its direction with the 911 dispatcher.

Eventually, Dodge parked the severely disabled car in the 2100 block of Elm Street and fled on foot.

Fortunately, the resident was able to acquire the vehicle’s license plate which helped the officers to locate the vehicle. It turned out the vehicle had recently been reported stolen.

A short time later, officers caught Dodge not far from the scene. He was later arrested for vehicle theft and being in possession of burglary equipment.

Strictly follow the rules of the road to ensure everyone’s safety. When pulled over, slow down and wait for further instructions. Do not attempt to flee the scene and cooperate with the authorities.

Once available, more information will be given.
