Stephen Box, candidate for City Council District 4, has food trucks tweeting up a storm for him.

@greatballsot (Great Balls On Tires) tweets: “You've voted us as best BALLS in L.A., now vote for BOX because he supports Food Trucks in District 4. Get out and VOTE!”

The food truck gang is not only tweet-supporting Box, they are also taking direct aim at District 4 incumbent Tom LaBonge.

@SaveFoodTrucks tweets: “Vote 4 Stephen Box! Food Trucks are under assault from Councilman LaBonge. Protect conumer choice.”

Box has found the right foodies:

District 4 is a gerrymandered district that stretches from the La Brea Tar Pits to North Hollywood.

But most importantly for food trucks: District 4 includes Silver Lake, much of Los Feliz and Griffith Park. Hipster and food truck lover central.

As reported by Mayor Sam's Sister City: Box has earned his food truck tweet-a-thon:

CD4 Council Candidate Stephen Box held a food truck festival in the NoHo Arts District … Food truck operators are generally supporting Box as incumbent Tom LaBonge has been essentially hostile towards the popular businesses. A number of locals turned out to meet with Box and sample fare from a variety of trucks.

We will keep you posted as the numbers from the polls at today's election start to roll in. Will the food truck tweets help bring a major upset and oust incumbent LaBonge?
