Stephanie Kirk Charged with Child Abuse after Hitting Young Boy on Yukon Drive

SUN VALLEY, NV (May 27, 2021) – Stephanie Kirk, 35, was arrested Friday after intentionally hitting a kid on Lone Cedar Lane last weekend.

The accident happened just before 7:00 p.m., on May 16. Emergency crews arrived in the area of Lone Cedar Lane and Yukon Drive.

Investigators discovered that Kirk waved to the boy on his bicycle to cross the street. As he was crossing, she stepped on the gas and intentionally struck him and fled the scene.

Friends and family of the boy who witnessed the crash were able to provide a suspect and vehicle description.

Officers arrested Kirk and booked her into the Washoe County jail. Stephanie was arrested on multiple felony charges including battery with a deadly weapon, child abuse, neglect, and abandonment.

Fortunately, the boy was wearing a helmet at the time. Deputies say he only suffered a hip injury and road rash.

At this time, authorities have not yet released the young boy’s identity.
