Stage Raw: LAPD in Bolivia

LOS ANGELES POVERTY DEPARTMENT IN BOLIVIA

The homeless advocacy theater troupe, Los Angeles Poverty Department, has been touring Bolivia for two months with a stage production of Agentes y Activos, and is presenting Matt Mayes' documentary film of that tour Wednesday, Apil 7, 7-9 p.m. at G727 Gallery 727 South Spring Street. (213) 627-9563. There is no admission charge and free street parking after 6 p.m.

Agentes y Activos is based on a U.S. House of Representatives investigation into whether Nicaraguan Contras were able to smuggle cocaine in to California with CIA knowledge.

“The film features the magnificent larger than life landscape of the Bolivian Andes and the on stage and on the road discoveries of our traveling cast and crew of seventeen: LAPD'ers & our Boliviano collaborators from the The Escuela de Arte y Talentos.”
