Even though St. Patrick's Day is Monday, you might as well call this St. Patrick's Weekend. The police are certainly thinking of it that way.

The anti-DUI troops will hit the streets starting today, so don't count on the luck of the Irish to get you out of a drunk-driving arrest. No four leaf clovers will help, either.

Here's the 411:
]
Today from 4 p.m. to midnight extra LAPD cruisers and motorcycles will hit the streets of downtown for what the department calls a DUI “saturation patrol.”

Tonight from 5 p.m. to 1 p.m. an LAPD saturation patrol hits the department's 77th Street Division area of South L.A.

Tonight from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. a DUI checkpoint will be waiting for you on Vermont Avenue at Sixth Street in Koreatown.

Tonight from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. expect another checkpoint on Sepulveda Boulevard at Parthenia Avenue in picturesque North Hills.

Saturday from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. there will be a checkpoint in action Figueroa and 112th streets in South Los Angeles.

Saturday from 8 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Broadway at Florence Avenue in South L.A. – you guessed it – the LAPD will be operating a checkpoint.

Saturday from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. a checkpoint will be happening on Figueroa Street at Ninth Street near Staples Center and LA Live downtown.

Sunday from noon to 8 p.m. a saturation patrol will be on duty on the Eastside of the city, also known as the LAPD's Hollenbeck Division area (not to be mistaken for Silver Lake, Echo Park, or any other areas of the faux Eastside).

Sunday from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m. extra patrols will be hitting the LAPD's Southwest Division area, which is just south of the 10 freeway and west of the 110. It includes the neighborhoods around USC. Careful, Trojans.

Monday from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m. the only official St. Patrick's Day saturation patrol will be in the LAPD's North Hollywood Division area.

On top of all that, the L.A. County Sheriff's Department has this info for you:

The Avoid the 100 Los Angeles County DUI Task Force will be deploying 87 roving DUI patrols this St. Patrick's Day as well as 13 DUI checkpoints throughout the county looking to stop and arrest drivers who are impaired by alcohol or drugs.

They're not telling us exactly where these checkpoints are even though, by law, local cops are supposed to let the public know. Wear green, just in case. And don't get behind the wheel.

[Added at 4:33 p.m.]: Add Long Beach to the mix. The LBC police say they'll be on the streets Monday looking for drunk drivers. They didn't provide exact hours.
