After this week's April showers it's time to get out and enjoy spring in L.A.

Just don't overdo it. The Los Angeles Police Department has been pretty consistent in recent years when it comes to cracking down on drunk drivers.

The only good news here is that cops are warning you where they'll be, hoping that you'll think twice about drinking and driving. Here's your weekend cheat sheet:
]
Tonight from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. there will be a DUI checkpoint on Huntington Drive at Poplar Boulevard in El Sereno.

Saturday from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m. extra patrol cars and police motorcycles will be on the streets of the LAPD's 77th Street Division area in South Los Angeles. The department calls the operation a “saturation patrol.”

Sunday from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m. another DUI saturation patrol will be going down in the LAPD's West Valley Division area.

The department says, “research shows that traffic collisions involving an impaired driver can be reduced by up to 20 percent when well-publicized DUI checkpoints and proactive DUI patrols are conducted routinely.”

You've been warned.
