Phil Spector sits in a black frock coat, red tie, white shirt and American flag lapel pin. The bailiff has made the announcement about turning off cell phones or getting escorted out of the courtroom. (Where was he the last time I saw a movie in this town?)  Spector's young wife, Rachelle, sits in the front row of the small Spector rooting section. Lana Clarkson's mother, Donna, and sister, Fawn, have just arrived, behind the lawyers who will be pressing their civil suit against Spector once this trial ends.

The room has gotten very quiet, filled with the dread of an execution. Judge Larry Paul Filder has entered.

Fidler: “I understand how emotions can run high at a time like this, but I do not tolerate outbursts from anyone — the verdict will be respected.”

2:10 p.m.: The jurors and alternate have entered.

Foreperson, Juror No. One, hands the verdict to the bailiff, who gives it to Judge Fidler, who hands it to the clerk.

Court Clerk: Guilty of the crime of second degree murder of Lana Clarkson. Further find that Phillip Spector used a handgun [during the crime.]
