So the SXSW parties are all falling into place, and we'll be providing one jumbo list of all the LA-related stuff going down in Austin in a few weeks. It promises to be a strange festival; everybody is scaling back. Artists are asking for cash to play day parties they once did for free. Sponsorship money has dried up, and people who could otherwise afford to do the five day party are bailing out.

Not so Southern Lord, LA's mighty mighty dark metal label. Fresh from their signing of Pelican and releasing the deep, dark, totally weird new Wolves in the Throne Room LP, the label is headed to Texas to show the hoo-has how to get deep and dark.
