Southern California-based Veterinary Pet Insurance Co. is holding its second annual competition for the most unusual pet insurance claim of the year. The twelve finalists of the “VPI Hambone Award” were named on Monday.

The award is named after a VPI-insured dog that got stuck in a refrigerator, ate an entire Thanksgiving ham, and caught a mild case of hypothermia.

Among the nominees are a San Diego County Labrador retriever that ate a bee hive and an Irvine cat that got stuck in a laundry machine. Both pets received immediate veterinary care and have fully recovered.

Voting takes place online between Monday and August 16.
