Don't wait for another Prop 8 rally or parade to waive your freak flag. Where else but at Outfest 2009 can you watch movies with such titles as 25 Random Things I Did During My Big Fat Lesbian Depression, Asswax, Bitches, Buttholes and BFFs and Pissfuck? Our city's annual gay and lesbian film festival showcases nearly 200 features, documentaries and shorts from 25 countries held across seven local venues. Opening night at the Orpheum Theater (festival thru July 19) screens the premiere of La Mission, starring Benjamin Bratt as an ex-con living in S.F.'s Mission District. Other highlights include a fascinating-looking biopic on Quentin Crisp, An Englishman in New York, played by John Hurt, and the documentary Beautiful Darling: The Life and Times of Candy Darling. If we were you, gorgeous, we'd save our strength and join all the people who need people in the Funny Girl sing-along. Those ballads aren't going to butcher themselves.
