Soccer clubs, like many others, are debating whether or not to allow their players to use CBD. Until recently, the answer was straightforward: if the World Anti-Doping Agency declares a product to be prohibited, it must be prohibited. Now that CBD has been pulled from WADA’s list of banned drugs, organizations including FIFA, Major League Soccer, and the National Women’s Soccer League have been granted the authority to use it as they see fit.

As a result, even though CBD is no longer strictly prohibited, there are still some uncertainties about its use in soccer.

Here are some of the famous soccer players who frequently use CBD oil products.

Portland Thorns FC

Yes, this isn’t an individual, but rather a group that is being represented. The NWSL, or National Women’s Soccer League, and other big soccer organizations will, however, be impacted significantly by this team’s dealings with CBD companies. The Portland Thorns FC is the first NWSL team to sign a deal with a CBD firm. While the fact that a single team found a CBD partner may not appear to be very significant, it does open the door for additional teams and businesses to do so.

Megan Rapinoe

Megan Rapinoe is one of the best-known female soccer players in the world, both on and off the field. She had early success in the sport, having competed in the FIFA U-19 Women’s World Cup in 2004. She was a crucial member of the US Women’s National Team, helping them win gold at the London Olympics in 2012.

Rapinoe spends her time off the field working for the many organizations and political topics in which she is passionate. CBD is one of the issues she has taken on, and she has worked with her sister’s CBD company to increase awareness about the substance. Rapinoe utilizes CBD herself and is passionate about educating others about the benefits that CBD products may provide to athletes.

Rachael Rapinoe

Megan Rapinoe’s twin sister, Rachael Rapinoe, was also a star in the sport. She began her high school career as a track and basketball athlete, but she quickly switched to soccer and discovered she loved it. She joined Stjarnan Women, an Icelandic women’s club soccer team, in 2010 and made five appearances for them, scoring two goals.

Rachael now serves as the CEO of Mendi, a sports wellness firm that teaches athletes how to incorporate CBD oil products into their everyday routines. She understands what CBD has to offer as a user, and her presence in the CBD sector might be a big step forward for soccer players looking to enter the market.
