Police on Wednesday arrested a Riverside County man who allegedly crashed a wedding and made off with $1,800 in cash and checks during a 2007 reception in Garden Grove. Stephen Kadlec, a Canyon Lake resident, was arrested at about 1 p.m. and booked on suspicion of burglary, according to police.

The suspected theft happened at the Garden Room Chapel located at 12777 Knott Street in Garden Grove.

Garden Grove police Lt. Travis Whitman said though the chapel had an “excellent video surveillance system,” a recent tip led investigators to the alleged thief. The tip came after authorities release the suspect's image to the media.

Police are now looking into whether or not Kadlec is responsible for similar thefts around the area.
