Maybe this has gone a little too far. Sure, you can protect your property. But maybe make sure the person at your front door isn't a Girl Scouts cookies seller before you draw your heat, yeah?
A Southern California man was jailed this week because he allegedly pointed a gun at a girl selling cookies door-to-door in his neighborhood:
]
The Riverside County Sheriff's Department says it happened about 11:24 a.m. Sunday at a home in the 31000 block of Strawberry Tree Lane in Temecula.
According to a Sheriff's statement:
The victim, who is a minor, was going door-to-door selling cookies. When the victim knocked on the suspect's door, he opened the door and pointed a gun at her.
Yep. Allegedly.
Cops say the girl's dad, apparently escorting her, witnessed what happened and called police.
Suspect John Dodrill, 59, was arrested and booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, Riverside officials said.
Is this the anti-Cookie Monster?
Anyone with info on the incident was asked to call deputies 951-696-3000.
