Quazedelic — a.k.a. Quaze, a.k.a. the Electric Church Dogg — is, in case the etymology wasn't a tip-off, not only a disciple of George Clinton's legendary Funkadelic band, but a close homie of Snoop Dogg's.

The Long Beach funk artist has produced tracks for several of the Doggfather's projects — from Tha Eastsidaz' second album, to Snoop's platinum-certified Rhythm & Gangsta — and for Quaze's own forthcoming debut album, the Doggfather returns the favor.

The Snoop-featuring song, “Hold On” seems fairly indicative of what to expect from Stan Sly: AnuthaWorld, which is due out on SomeOthaShip Connect, the South L.A.-based independent label run by Georgia Anne Muldrow and Declaime.

Which is to say, deep grooves, eccentric crooned vocals and a general feel-good gangsta vibe driven home by lyrics that include everyone from “the Gs to the güeros.”
