Snoop has unwittingly become the de facto authority for musicians in the NFT space, with multiple projects ranging from graphic iterative pieces to an entire NFT music label. As an early adopter, he was one of the first artists to accept crypto for an album release, and the notoriously captious NFT community has embraced him with open arms.

Snoop and Banks’ musical history dates back to 2018, when they released the track, “Bounce,” together with #1 DJ’s Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike and NFT alums, Bassjackers, and it became the anthem for that year’s Tomorrowland Festival in Belgium where they premiered it on the mainstage.

They’ve teamed up again for another track combined with their NFT release, entitled, “Rain Dance, ” an amalgam of music, digital art, and physical sculptures crafted by famed artist, Vincent Faudemer, for his eponymous Babolex figurines. Babolex has arguably been one of the more prominent NFT iterations, and the Snoop Babolex has proved to be the most successful release to date. Their project recently landed in the top 10 for NFT projects on the Solana network.

As an advisor on multiple NFT projects and web3 collectives, Banks has expanded his music production studio, Cosmic Haze, and fully immersed his collective in the realm of NFTs, regularly partnering with top names in the space for both on-chain and physical experiences that bolster the growing community. He’ll be presenting and hosting crypto events in the coming months, as well as launching activations for a growing coterie of artists.

As a founding member of the NFT Foundation, Banks joins Keith Grossman (President of TlME Magazine), Jordan Young (Grammy-winning DJ), Farokh Sarmad (NFT Influencer), Flosstradamus (award-winning DJ), and Leah Lamarr (TlME Magazine’s Entertainer Of The Year) in a collective that focuses on expanding awareness of web3.

Snoop recently partnered with metaverse gaming platform The Sandbox to sell ‘The Snoopverse Early Access Pass’, allowing buyers access to “all of the Snoopverse experiences before anyone else,” and earlier in the year, Snoop sold over $44 million worth of ‘Stash Box’ NFTs for his new album B.O.D.R in under a week.
