A rowdy customer got into it with a security guard outside Snooky's bikini bar last night — ultimately leading to his death in the parking lot, says the L.A. County Sheriff Department's Lancaster Station.

In the last hours of April Fool's day, around 11 p.m., security allegedly asked the victim and another patron to leave Snooky's.

But they weren't going anywhere without a fight:

Sheriff's Deputy Tony Moore tells City News Service that “a short time later, one of the men returned to the location armed with a shotgun. The man pointed the shotgun at the security guard and, fearing for his safety, the security guard fired multiple rounds at the suspect, striking him in the upper torso.”

The man died where he fell.

Ed Winters at the L.A. County Coroner's Office says the victim has not yet been identified by name. Winters describes him only as a “male Caucasian.”

One Yelp reviewer says Snooky's is a wonderfully sleazy topless bar “full of mulleted men covered in dry-wall dust and horrible, gouged tribal tattoos.” Others concur:

Snooky's is the most awesome goddamn place in the AV. If you disagree, I will stab you with a stiletto heel.

Snooky's has everything you would ever want in a bikini bar. Awful, talentless dancers with a combination of more bruises and tattoos than any woman should ever have, sleazy old men, a security door man named “Igor”, cheap booze and pool tables.

The security guard who shot a customer last night was detained for questioning.

Strangely, on the southernmost tip of L.A. County, another Sunday strip-club shooting left a 26-year-old patron at Fantasy Gold dead with a gunshot wound to the head. But the suspected shooter in that crime was another patron — “a black man in a hooded sweatshirt, with a blue-steel semiautomatic pistol.”
