NBC apparently pulled the online clip of a Saturday Night Live spoof of Brittany Murphy from a site, Hulu, the network co-owns. The move on Monday came a day after the actress died following cardiac arrest at her home in the hills above the Sunset Strip.

NBC wouldn't comment on the apparent removal. The spoof had Abby Elliott performing as a disoriented and somewhat clueless Murphy during a Dec. 5 segment of SNL's “Weekend Update.” Seth Myers introduced the star after noting that she had just been fired from a Puerto Rican film shoot for a project titled The Caller, which appears to be true. In fact, that same weekend of the spoof, Murphy's husband, Simon Monjack, returned from Puerto Rico and was reportedly picked up by paramedics at LAX for unknown reasons.

According to the New York Times, some bloggers are taking NBC and SNL to task for doing the skit and taking a dig at an actress that wasn't much in the news at the time.

As we put it recently, it was a bad month for Murphy. She was also reportedly fired by her agent.

She died at 10:04 a.m. Sunday at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center Sunday after paramedics apparently found her in full arrest at her home short after 8 a.m. TMZ reports prescription medications were found at the house, and that Murphy had been suffering from flu-like symptoms that morning.
