It appears the catwalk is the hot new place for lobbying and currying political favors. Last Sunday, the Regalettes, an African-American women’s social club, hosted an all-male fashion show and silent auction for their scholarship fund. But if you’re thinking Tyson Beckford, you’re way off. A series of lawyers, lobbyists and City Councilmen strutted down the runway: Eric Garcetti flashed his “blue steel,” the ever-dapper Bernard Parks looked so sexy it hurt, and finally a very Tammany Hall–looking Herb Wesson (running for City Council, 10th District) tipped his hat, pointed to the crowd and dashed off — no doubt to catch Mayor Villaraigosa’s coattails on his way out.
