Smokey Robinson at the Pacific Amphitheatre: At the ripe old age of 82, soul legend Smokey Robinson is still getting out there and performing those old songs, including some of the Miracles classics. The weather is likely to be great in the OC on Friday, so chill out and enjoy “Tears of a Clown” again.

According to the venue, “Smokey Robinson is a legendary singer-songwriter, record producer, record executive and co-founder of Motown Records. In recent years, Robinson released the standards album, Timeless Love, Time Flies When You’re Having Fun, Now And Then and Smokey & Friends.”

But let’s be honest — if you don’t know who Robinson is by now, then this concert probably isn’t for you. He, and the Miracles, have a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, he’s been inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, and more importantly he’s responsible for some of the greatest soul music ever recorded.

Smokey Robinson at the Pacific Amphitheatre: The event takes place at 8:15 p.m. on Friday, August 12 at the Pacific Amphitheatre.
