Will the real Prasad Upasani please stand up? The Indian vocalist is one of those remarkable guys who's equally at home in both music and computer science. Prasad began his vocal studies with his musician father, Sri Sharadchandra Upasani, and by age 6 could follow his dad in any song, and reproduce any note. He's been performing in public since the age of 11, has won numerous awards, and is known as a major player in the world of Hindustani vocal music. But he's also a mover and shaker in the world of software development, with an M.A. in computer science from USC. Upasani is joined by another straddler of two dimensions, composer/singer/harmonium player Gopal Marathe, director of the Maharashtrian Folk Ensemble and professor of microbiology at UC Riverside, in a Music Circle morning of Indian classical musical delights. Occidental College, Herrick Chapel, 1600 Campus Rd., Eagle Rock: Sun., Nov. 2, 11 a.m.; $10, $5 students. (626) 449-6987, www.musiccircle.org.
