Starting this week, modern Brazilian restaurant Caboco is bringing the tradition of Brazil’s national dish, feijoada, to L.A. every Sunday from noon to 4 p.m.

The all-you-can-eat feijoada “completa” (served family style and ordered per person) comes with bean stew, housemade sausage and smoked meats, collard greens, rice, farofa (toasted tapioca crumbles), torresmo (crispy pork belly), yucca fries, and orange slices…and a boozy shot of batidinha (cachaça, lime and sugar). Replacing Sunday dinner service, folks who dine-in for Feijoada Sundays also will have access to the restaurant’s signature cachaça cocktails, wine and beer, and dessert.

Bay Area chicken concept Starbird has opened its second SoCal pop-up kitchen in  Koreatown, with crispy tenders, hand-chopped salads, wings with a choice of homemade flavors, sandwiches that are served on house baked rolls, and the Szechuan Hot Sandwich. To celebrate the opening, guests can get $20 off their first Starbird meal by entering their email address here.   Starbird is slated to open streetside locations this year in Hollywood and Marina del Rey.

From Monday, March 28 through Sunday, April 3, Imperfect Foods is bringing its Food Waste Week to LA for the first time. Kicking off a west coast tour, the online grocer will be partnering with local restaurateurs, chefs, and speakers in an effort to educate the community and save 1,000 pounds of food in one week. Throughout the week, restaurants will create limited-edition, waste-less menu items, and Imperfect Foods will host panels, tastings, demos and more for LA locals to attend. The panels and workshops taking place at Imperfect Foods’ LA Food Waste Week hub, The Rose Room, will include Composting 101, a panel on the Future of Farming, as well as a discussion on food apartheid in the LA community. For every meal sold at participating restaurants, Imperfect Foods will make a donation of $5 to The Hollywood Food Coalition.

In honor of Women’s History Month, Gusto Green is partnering with People’s Pottery Project, a nonprofit ceramic collective that offers paid job training, access to a healing community, and meaningful employment to formerly incarcerated women, trans and nonbinary individuals. Now through Tuesday, May 31, Gusto Green will donate $1 of every hemp-based sourdough puffed pita sold to People’s Pottery Project. The signature menu item will be served on a custom ceramic plate designed by artists at the LA-based nonprofit.
