Cosplay Abounds at Refreshingly Low-Key Long Beach Comic Expo
Long Beach Comic Expo drew hordes of cosplayers to the Long Beach Convention Center on Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 17-18. With a geeky car show out front, a great dealers room and social corner provided by Nerdbot and just a few panels in the adjoining rooms, Long Beach Comic Con felt more like how cons used to be in the good old days. Our favorite vendors were Vinylsmack, Make It Sew by Mikki Gunter and Flying Frog Illustration: The Art of Holly Randall. We also loved all the fan guilds who had their own booths, and of course Cosplay Corner. All in all, it was a wonderful way to spend the day surrounded by comic book fans but not being trampled by them.
