Skullcrack Break Faces in Long Beach: In a recent interview with Death By Stereo’s Efrem Schulz, the frontman was asked to highlight some contemporary punk rock bands in Orange County that are making some impressive noises, and the first name he came up with was Skullcrack. Little wonder — this lot has a S.O.D./Nuclear Assault/Municipal Waste hardcore/thrash crossover sound (and the sleeve art to match) — all rotting corpses and cartoony ultra-violence.
The music is delicious; a high-energy boot in the face. The O.C. has a rich punk rock history, and the baton is in good hands.
This show in Long Beach should be a beauty. Also performing are Overexposure, Human Issue Music Collective, and the Keeper. Human Issue feature in their ranks, among others, Crow Jane (Egrets of Ergot), Rik Agnew (Adolescents, Christian Death), and Hunter Martinez (Dwarves). The Keeper and Overexposure are both local hardcore/punk bands, so there’ll be plenty to enjoy before the main event.
According to Indecision Records, “Skullcrack is a high energy hardcore punk/crossover thrash band from Southern California. Whipping out tightly constructed blasts of hardcore fused with thrash metal guitars and over the top antics. Skullcrack’s music lends itself to a wide range of extreme music fans.”
Skullcrack Break Faces in Long Beach: The event takes place at 8 p.m. on Thursday, February 17 at Alex’s Bar.  All COVID protocols are enforced.
