It's almost as if this suspect was prepared for what would allegedly happen this morning. Because cops say his handy skateboard served as both a weapon to fend off angry neighbors and as a would-be getaway vehicle.

It wasn't fast enough, apparently.

Cops say a skater behind the wheel of an SUV hit a pedestrian and then crashed into a home before …

… you guessed it … he used his deck-and-wheels to fend off incensed residents. Then he tried to kick-push his way to freedom, LAPD Officer Rosario Herrera told the Weekly.

Maybe he should get some old-school, speedy Cadillac wheels, because onlookers caught him and held the suspect until cops arrived, she said.

It all happened about 7:45 a.m. in the 4500 block of South Wesley Ave.

An ambulance responded to take care of the person who was hit. It wasn't clear if he or she was hospitalized.

The skater was collared.
