59-Year-Old Los Banos Woman Pronounced Dead after Semi-Truck Accident near Bloomfield Avenue

GILROY, CA (May 16, 2024)Silvia Aranda died Monday afternoon, and a man was injured in a semi-truck accident on northbound Highway 25.

The incident occurred at approximately 12:40 p.m., near Bloomfield Avenue, just two miles south of Gilroy.

California Highway Patrol officers reported that a northbound 2016 Freightliner tractor-trailer collided with a Hyundai Elantra, which was attempting to make a left turn onto the highway. First responders pronounced the Hyundai driver dead at the scene.

The Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office later identified the deceased as 59-year-old Aranda from Los Banos. Authorities stated that the truck driver sustained minor injuries in the collision.

Police do not suspect intoxication as a factor in the incident. An active investigation is ongoing to determine further details about the fatal semi-truck accident on Highway 25.
