Mark it on your calendar. Silversun Pickups, the band that sprang from the Silver Lake scene and onto the national stage in '06 — and helped create the nebulous and ill-defined “Silver Lake Sound” — has been patiently crafting the follow-up to their breakthrough debut, Carnavas, which was released nearly two-and-a-half years ago. This morning the band announced that the new Swoon, also on the estimable Dangerbird Records imprint, will hit the stores on April 14.

The album is reportedly finished, though no promos have been sent out of yet. We're not allowed to tell you whether we've heard any tracks from the record — so we haven't heard any tracks from it — but have heard rumors that at least one of the new songs is as solid, and thick, and dynamic, as those on the debut, only somehow (what's the word?) earthier. But that's only a rumor.
