Garage Pizza of Silver Lake is expanding. The better-than-average neighborhood pizza joint is looking to open a second location at 7th and Main streets in downtown LA. Owner Jason “Jay” Batten is deep into the revamping of the existing space but isn't close to setting an opening date. (Once again, we can thank Los Angeles' labyrinthine permitting process for the uncertainty.)

Since opening a couple years ago in the same strip mall as Tang's Donuts at the corner of Sunset Boulevard and Fountain Avenue, Garage Pizza has won over neighborhood residents with thin crusts and puckishly named combos like the White Boy (mozzarella, ricotta, garlic and basil) and the Cholo (ground beef or chicken, jalapeño, red onion, black olive). More details (like an opening date) when we get them.
