Cops are on the lookout for two or three robbers who have targeted joggers around the Silver Lake Reservoir in recent weeks.

So far the LAPD has only recorded two such crimes, including one last week, but the M.O.s are similar and there's no telling if the suspects will attack again:

The first robbery happened at 9:20 p.m. on April 29 at Silver Lake Boulevard and Armstrong Avenue, according to the LAPD. The victim was approached by two suspects and at first refused their demands to give up his goods, cops said.

When one of the two bad guys displayed a handgun, however, the robbery was complete and the suspects fled to a nearby vehicle, according to police.

The second crime happened last Monday (May 6) at about 8 p.m.at Silver Lake Boulevard and Hawick Street, the LAPD says.

This time three suspects “approached a jogger from behind and tackled him,” the department says in a statement.

The vehicles in the crimes were described by cops as “tan or silver 1998-2000, Toyota 4-door Square back with tinted windows or a silver colored 1999-2002, 4-door Honda Accord.”

In both cases the bad guys were described as being in their late teens or early 20s.

Cops urged joggers in the area to beware.

Anyone with info on the robberies was asked to call detectives at 323-344-5751.
