Charlie Chaplin movies play regularly, but rarely with as many in-depth extras as LACMA’s The Costume of Silent Comedy: Charlie Chaplin and the Tramp Restored. The festivities begin at 7:30 p.m. and will be led by film historian/preservationist Serge Bromberg, who will be on hand to share behind-the-scenes footage, old stories and previously unseen documents. As for the movies, a new print of A Night in the Show (1915) and the theatrical world premiere of The Bank’s (1915) new restoration are on the docket and will be accompanied by Bromberg’s piano stylings.
