51-Year-Old Woman Injured Pedestrian Accident near North Sabino Canyon Road

TUCSON, AZ (April 29, 2022) – Sunday evening, 51-year-old Sierra Deborah Waters was hurt in a pedestrian crash on Tanque Verde Road.

The fatal collision happened in the 7100 block of East Tanque Verde Road. Emergency crews responded to the scene near North Sabino Canyon Road shortly after.

Investigators determined the woman was attempting to cross the street on Tanque Verde Road when a silver 2002 Toyota Prius hit her. Upon impact, the Prius driver immediately stopped and contacted authorities.

Medical personnel arrived and transported Sierra Deborah Waters to a nearby hospital for further treatment of serious injuries.

Following preliminary duties, officers also confirmed that impairment played a factor in the collision. Although, an active investigation to determine further details is still underway.
