45-Year-Old Driver Pronounced Dead after Solo-Car Accident near Kern River

BAKERSFIELD, CA (November 9, 2021) – Sunday night, 45-year-old Shonti Jessica Pimentel died in a rollover crash on Golden State Highway.

Emergency crews responded to the scene around 8:40 p.m., on the southbound lanes of the highway near Kern River.

According to reports, Pimentel was driving a red Cadillac, south on the highway when she suddenly crossed both lanes and left the roadway.

As a result, the vehicle overturned down an embankment, eventually ejecting Pimentel. The Cadillac then landed on top of her, killing her instantly. Medics arrived and pronounced her dead at the scene.

Preliminary investigations revealed that Pimentel was not wearing a seatbelt at the time. In addition, alcohol or drugs are considered to be likely factors.
