Man Hit and Injured after Pedestrian Accident near East Charleston Boulevard
LAS VEGAS, NV (January 30, 2023) – Saturday afternoon, police arrested Shermonique Batiste after a pedestrian crash on Nellis Boulevard. The collision occurred on January 21st, at about 5:53 p.m. near East Charleston Boulevard. According to reports, a male pedestrian was crossing the street when a gray Hyundai Sonata, that was traveling south, struck him. The impact of the collision left the man with serious injuries. First responders to the scene transported the man to Sunrise Hospital for treatment. Police said the driver, 49-year-old Shermonique Batiste stayed at the scene and showed signs of impairment consistent with marijuana use. Authorities later took Batiste into custody and charged her with DUI. At this time, LVMPD continues to investigate the pedestrian crash and will release further information once it becomes available.
