67-Year-Old San Francisco Man Dies in Accident on Bay View Trail

MARIN, CA (July 25, 2022) – Wednesday afternoon, 67-year-old Sherman Wayne Chen died in an e-bike accident in China Camp State Park.

The incident occurred around 12:20 p.m., on the Bay View Trail.

Per reports, the man was riding an e-bike when he lost control while riding up a hillside for unknown reasons. As a result, the man plunged down a steep ridge-line to the ground below.

Eventually, officers arrived and found Chen in a steep ravine with injuries consistent with a long fall. Despite wearing a helmet, paramedics pronounced Chen dead at the scene.

Authorities did not release any additional information at this time. However, the cause of the accident and the factors involved remain under active investigation.
